Ice cold shooting and Texas' athleticism proved to be too much for Maine as it fell to the Longhorns 83-54 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Tanesha Sutton led the way for Maine with 16 points. The Black Bears end their historical season at 23-10.
"I'm really proud of them, proud of our season. Not the way we wanted to end it, but I'd take these 13 kids any day and so really just proud of how hard they compete and how much they grew this year," head coach Amy Vachon said after the game.
"Any player growing up this is the kinda stage you want to play on. So to be able to represent my home state at this kind of game is really kind of surreal it's hard to put into words so i'm really thankful," guard Parise Rossignol said.
