Skowhegan man sentenced for possessing child porn

Written by

BANGOR - A Skowhegan man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday for receiving and possessing child pornography.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maine, in November of 2017 records show Christopher Kruse, 51, received several sexually explicit videos over the internet.

Authorities say he then added the videos to a collection of child porn he kept on his computer since 2015.

Judge Lance Walker, who sentenced Kruse, said in a statement this was more concerning than the average case, and that Kruse "sought out and collected some of the most vile and disturbing images."

Kruse was also ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution, more than $10,000 in special assessments and a $1,000 fine.

He'll have ten years of supervised release after he's let out of prison.
