According to Eben Sypitkowski, the Park Director for Baxter State Park, the two Pennsylvania men, in their 50's,had gone off the Knife Edge trail.
They were rescued around 1:30 a.m. by Mahoosic Search and Rescue, who guided the men back on to the trail.
Both men were not hurt.
Officials said the men had gone off the trail concerned about approaching a peak during gathering storms.
A helicopter search was called off on Saturday due to those strong winds, and supplies were lowered down to the hikers.
The park's director is reminding people weather can change quickly and to always be prepared. He also thanked the cooperative efforts among Mahoosic Search and Rescue, park rangers, and the Maine Forest Service.
