A park spokesperson said visitors reported it to park rangers and firefighters were able to put it out about an hour.
One person of interest has been identified.
Park officials credited the fast response with keeping everyone safe.
They said it was the third illegal campsite with open fires in the past two weeks.
Park officials said they are also noticing a greater number of fires at campgrounds that are being left unattended.
They are reminding everyone there is no camping allowed except in the campgrounds and fires there should never be left unattended.
They said even a small breeze could quickly cause a fire to spread.
