Teacher celebrates 50 years at local school

HANCOCK - A Hancock Grammar School teacher was honored Thursday night for 50 years on the job.

Coworkers and students came to celebrate Lillian Lounder's decades' worth of experience as a special ed technician.

On top of the dessert buffet, Lounder got a special surprise - the school has decided to name the library after her.

She said she was overwhelmed and excited, and there's no other place she would rather have named after her.

"My favorite memories of this place are when I know I have helped one child have a better chance at school," said Lounder.

She is not retiring, and said she has at least one more year in her to spend working at the Hancock Grammar School.
