Bullet holes remain scattered on a downtown Bangor building. The shooting happened at the corner of Harlow and Franklin Street near Tesoro Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant. Jim Parent says he was inside sitting at the bar with a group of friends when 32-year-old Jordan Bishop was walking by and began urinating on Parent's truck.
"I just said look, get out of here now, just go, take off," recalled Parent.
He says bishop refused and a physical altercation eventually broke out between Bishop, Parent and another person who was at the bar. He says it wasn't until then that Bishop left, returning just a few minutes later with his car and a gun.
"I'm looking at this situation and I know he's got about...10 to 15 feet to walk across that street and we're all sitting there in front of glass, like we're in a bowl and he could just start shooting," Parent said.
He's been a bouncer at many different bars and clubs in the area and had been faced with similar situations before. He says he went outside to handle it, but Bishop wasn't going to let up.
"I started running for the door and as soon as I got to the door I heard the first shot and that's the one that got me in the head," Parent said
He received three other bullet wounds on his back before diving down a nearby stairwell for cover. Bangor Police arrived within minutes.
"People say, 'Jeez well that was kind of crazy are you OK?'...well yeah, I'm alive, and so are all my friends and the bad guy got caught and so I know it's bad but it could've been a whole lot worse," said Parent.
Bishop is being held on $100,000 cash bail until his case is presented to the grand jury.
