STANDISH - Despite representing the smallest class on the diamond, the Class D softball matchup between Penobscot Valley and Richmond provided some of the biggest fireworks.

Richmond entered the state championship on an 88-game winning streak, having won the past four titles. However, that all ended when PVHS knocked off the Bobcats 4-0.

Freshman pitcher Leine McKechnie threw a no-hitter for the Howlers, and also belted a three-run homer in the top of the seventh inning to seal the victory. View highlights here!
